This is a wonderful book though the title may be a bit misleading as the book details all manners of all aerospace engines which function as a jet.  Rockets, ramjets, pulsejets, wave engines, airflow jets, turbojets, ramrockets, and nuclear jets.

It's a collection of 12 volumes A through L by over 100 contributors, all experts in their field of propulsion.  Almost 800 pages of history, pictures, diagrams, graphs, and theory.  A very interesting read and a terrific resource.
