36" Ballistic Drogue

This is one honking parachute!

Originally a retarding device for an air dropped armament this chute is designed to deploy at speed well above mach one. Attachment point at apex is steel with stainless steel 3/16" cable. Suspension lines are 1/8" stainless steel cable on grommeted eyelets.

There are 27 steel lines on this chute! I have used this parachute several times in applications where the deployment speed is expected to be rapid. Since most of these chutes have the steel suspension lines cut off at the riser retaining ring anyway, I cut the cable from the apex as well and removed all the steel suspension lines. Moving clockwise around the skirt I removed 2 of every 3 lines and attached a 3 foot piece of paracord. This gave me a relatively light chute that would stand up to a lot of abuse for not a whole bunch of money.

Looks great hanging up in the rocket room or on the wall in the garage.  These parachutes are surplus, they are sold as-is, vary in condition of cloth, and weigh approx. 4 pounds with steel cables and attachments.

Sorry, we're currently out of stock on this product. We will update the website when they come back into stock.
