![]() 15 to 17 foot (depending on where you measure the parachute's diameter) white parachute with lines, nominally for a 40 to 60 pound vehicle. This is a high quality military parachute, tested by experts, sewn by professionals, and flown thousands of times in countless applications. Parachute is New Old Stock in that it has never been used though it comes from a demil'd application. Very lightweight nylon, stuffs easily into appropriately sized deployment bag. For lighter rockets, you can easily utilize the chute by adding a reefing line to the apex of the canopy or reefing ring to the suspension lines. Weighs approximately 3 pounds shipped. $ 110.00 for this top quality parachute!
This is a photo of the parachute on the ground after a successful deployment. Notice the airframe components in the background. Thanks to Richard Pitzeruse for this photo.
A note to our customers: Unfortunately this chute is becoming scarce. This is typical of surplus merchandise that comes on the market at the whim of the US government Demilitarization And Reutilization Fairy, or DARF for short. I have limited stock on hand, one parachute per customer. Read
an interesting story about recovering one of our 17' flare parachutes
