Description

Teflon coated aluminum one piece mandrels for solid rocket motor making. These are mandrels formerly used by a famous maker solid rocket motor manufacturer. They have been removed from surplus and are now available to the discriminating rocketeer with a serious sense of adventure. All the mandrels, except the black cruciform mandrel, are tapered for easy extraction using a hydraulic press. Utmost care must be taken when attempting a project of this size, make sure you know what you are doing! Available mandrels are: Green 33" Black Cruciform Black Tapered Viper II Group of Mandrels currently in stock. Not shown is the semi-cylindrical Viper2 mandrel which is teflon coated, 86.875" long with a diameter of 2.38" at one end and 3.55" at the other end. Call for pricing on this particular mandrel.

Shown Above: Green 33" Mandrel Teflon coated Aluminum Mandrel in cylindrical pattern. This mandrel is the topmost unit in the group photo above. Dimensions: 2.63" diam x 2.77" diam x 33" long tapped for 1/2-13 at each end to aid in extraction after curing. It has a slight taper to the mandrel as indicated by the two different diameters to allow for extraction after the curing process.

Shown Above: Black Tapered Teflon coated Aluminum Mandrel in cylindrical pattern. This mandrel is the slender middle unit in the group photo above. Dimensions: .98" diam x 1.31 " diam x 55.875" long tapped for 1/2-13 at each end to aid in extraction after curing. It has a slight taper to the mandrel as indicated by the two different diameters to allow for extraction after the curing process. In the right hand picture the steel extraction fixture is shown threaded into the mandrel. Not all mandrels include this extraction fixture.
